Description
Augmentin 1g – Broad-Spectrum Antibiotic for Bacterial Infections
Augmentin 1g is a powerful combination antibiotic containing Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid, designed to combat a wide range of bacterial infections. Manufactured by several leading pharmaceutical companies, Augmentin is widely prescribed for respiratory, urinary, skin, and soft tissue infections, among others.
Active Ingredients
-
Amoxicillin 1 gram: A penicillin-class antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis
-
Clavulanic Acid (125 mg): A beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects Amoxicillin from degradation by resistant bacteria
Indications
Augmentin 1g is indicated for the treatment of:
-
Respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, pneumonia, bronchitis)
-
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
-
Skin and soft tissue infections
-
Ear infections (otitis media)
-
Dental infections
-
Bone and joint infections
How Augmentin Works
The combination of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid allows Augmentin to effectively kill bacteria that are resistant to regular penicillin antibiotics. Amoxicillin disrupts bacterial cell wall formation, while Clavulanic Acid blocks beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, enhancing the antibiotic’s effectiveness.
